550 pediatric cases per year, 45% of which are infants under 1 year old.

Pediatric Neurosurgical Department provides medical care to children aged 0 to 18 years old with the following conditions:

  • hydrocephalus and hydromyelia of different genesis
  • congenital malformations of skull bones and spine
  • cerebral and spinal cord tumors
  • inflammatory diseases of central nervous system, requiring surgical interference
  • parasitic damage of the nervous system, requiring neurosurgical treatment
  • vascular diseases of the brain and spinal cord
  • nerve plexus and peripheral nerves injuries
  • effects of traumatic brain injuries

 

The work of the department is focused on the use of modern minimal invasive technologies, implementation of new concepts and development of existing techniques relating to diagnostics and treatment of children’s nervous system.

The staff of the department consists of 25 highly-qualified specialists who hold in their hands the most fragile and precious treasure, a child’s life and future, and put all their hearts and souls into giving little patients a chance to grow up in health and happiness.
