Our department provides surgical treatment of the following spine condition:

  • stenoses of different types and location
  • tumours of spinal cord or nerve roots, craniovertebral junction and spine bones
  • effects of traumatic injuries of spine and craniovertebral junction
  • degenerative diseases

 

The important factor in carrying out the operation and further quality of life of our patients is the use of intraoperative computer tomography, neuronavigation, neurophysiological control.  This equipment makes it possible to increase the precision of manipulations performed during the installation of restraint systems, carrying out the intraoperative control of completeness of executed decompression of spinal cord and its spinal roots, which enables the patient to get back to full life within shorter period of time.

OUR MAIN FOCUS IS MINIMALLY INVASIVE NEUROSURGERY. We use Tessis (Joimax) for endoscopic treatment of herniated discs

The advantages of minimally invasive methods:

  • Minimal cut – slight cosmetic defect (0.7-1 cm)
  • Shorter stay in hospital (3-4 days)
  • Reduction of blood loss
  • Reduction of risk of infectious complications
  • Reduction of back pain

 

The staff of the Department consists of 25 specialists including 3 neurosurgeons.
